Ah, the market. Portbound and full of things that just came in from all over the world, waiting for customers to buy. If you didn't find whatever you wanted to get here, you probably wouldn't get it at all. So where else would be a good place for the marine crew of two to stock up before setting sail, not to mention they had to wait a couple more hours anyway. Decisively leading the way along various kind of buildings and stands lined up all the way up the road, Jezebel was firstly interested in sorting the provisions problem and grabbing a couple of crates. Planning on lots of different things, fruits as well as vegetables and meat, not to mention drinkables. Though, somehow she felt like there weren't as many fresh goods available as there should have been. "This is kind of strange, you know. T'is a market and all, but somehow even after how much of it we've already seen, all i noticed being sold was things of daily use and some value goods, but hardly any consumables, that local ships would need to get in order to set sail." What a sharp observation for someone as seemingly lazy as she. Then again, who could know, she'd not been here before, maybe what they were looking for was offered in another part.

Stopping a random passerby before thinking too hard about it, Jezebel tried to get some information around these parts. So the two came to hear, that it has apparently been some kind of a shortage in certain goods and a couple of distributors stopped opening their stands or something. Naturally, the locals didn't feel much of it, seeing how the grand outdoors market mostly catered to seafaring folk. So this guy didn't know any details. Though it was enough to spark marine captain's interest. "If we want to get off this island and into career, that sounds like something we need to investigate. We need to have food and water for a trip. Totally an opportunity that screams for our intervention." Though this time Jez didn't exactly address Anais trough the usual "Recruit", she was kind of talking to her - for one thing, who else would have been around for that - albeit mostly as a ways of thinking out loud rather then asking for an opinion. Whatever the recruit possibly could have said wouldn't be enough to change the already set mind of the captain. So they would be off to find an actually affected trader for more information on the matter regardless.

The markets where the merchandise was supposed to be sold, there was merchandise but not the ones the Captain expected or beheld them within the realms of anticipations of her mind. Something Anais didn't notice for the recruit sole concentration was focused on how to better her smith capabilities and the armaments of their ship however it came clear, like a pure crystal ball that something was wrong prior to the captain's findings. Strange indeed, why there were not any of them consumables, the very provisions needed for their sustenance and the survival of an indeed long journey. It was going to be a long one since after all they were short in staff. Yes, crew-less plus two.

A chance hunter the captain was, the raven haired with a skin like a vanilla milkshake decided it would prove most wise for their future endeavors to investigate the matter. Yes, the opportunity was screaming in anguish praying for salvation, yearning for the troubleshooters to come as they would offer the healing medicine. Yet, it was more of a sweet poison for the duo were not doing it out of good heart. In all certainty, they were doing it to get out of this stagnant place. It was something Anais didn't comment about, old enough the sharpshooter was not as innocent nor she was evil. The matter itself didn't go behind what was good and evil, it was something that must be done and there was a sister whom the woman who came from the west wanted to heal and cure.

Then we should rescue the damsel in distress. A bit of sarcasm would warm the stomach Shall we!there was a mystery waiting to be discovered, provisions to be gain and a long journey to embark.

”Excuse me sir, but can I-” Nope. ”How about you, Miss? I'm certain a woman such as yourself would be interested in some perfume? Oh, you are? Well, with a face like that, you've got to get every advantage you can g- HEY! Stupid, ugly...”

Ignatius rapped his fingers against his stall. Well, it wasn't really so much of a stall as a couple tables. That he stole. And then hastily erected some driftwood around to make a rudimentary shelter. Some suspiciously acquired crates lie on the ground behind him, littered with vials, flasks, and contraptions laying on top of them, or revealing their contents. On either side of him were covered cages, as though he were just waiting to show someone the miraculous results of his concoctions. And, last but not least, a shoddy hand-painted sign hung up above him, barely legible and swinging precariously, as though he couldn't be bothered to fix it.

God, this sucked. Reduced to a peddling salesman, operating out of a shanty stall. Sure, THIS is how a Hunter was supposed to make a living, at least according to his father. But, this was far from how he SHOULD be making his living. Stupid fire. Stupid land ownership rights. He'd show that cranky old bastard. Oh, he'd show HIM.

After some more attempts at attracting perusers, he notices two women walking along, one of which was eying the stalls. Ah, someone with a refined eye, a sophisticated taste, or otherwise looking for something truly remarkable. THIS woman would be a sale indeed. ”How about you, Miss and, uh, Miss?” he asks to the passing Marines. ”I'm sure either of you would be interested in my lovely concoctions here. They'll simply confound your little brains with near-magical effects! Some people call this junk, but me, I call them treasures. AND I'll even give you a demonstration, for little more than a few moments of your time” Leaning in, fondling a vial of green fluid, he gives a grin. ”So, what'daya say, ladies? Care to see what mysteries this dashingly handsome, highly intelligent man has to offer?” Raising his eyebrows in an attempt at seduction, he grins.

Going along the market with it's stalls and stacked boxes, some traders inbetween trying to get their merchandise sold, all Jezebel was interested in was finding one of the merchants who could have more information about the case at hand. Most people seemed respectful enough to realize after one failed attempt to draw attention, that she was not interested, neither was her companion. Yet, this one piercingly annoying voice wouldn't stop coming from the side, a stall she was passing just now.
Decidedly she was getting more then angered with this man and had come to the conclusion he'd need a good yelling at, to know he better got off her back right there and now. SHe could have just walked by, obviously, but the impulsive nerve wouldn't have it.
"Look, we have important business to do. Really important business and we don't have time to spend salary on monkey sweat or whatever it is you're trying to scam people with here!" Putting some emphasis by actually turning to face him and then even going as far as placing both hands on the counter, moving her shoulders in until they were face to face, only mere centimeters apart. "Unless it's capable of solving the copious cases of food item abduction recently, that has forced a lot of merchants to close shop."
Of course it wasn't, how would it? But still, it should be clear what kind of importance scale their were busy on. Waiting for whatever cheesy response he might have -certainly it was grand and very very cheap; after what skill he displayed so far- Jezebel kept her posture for a moment before going to turn away and keep heading down the road.

Quite surprised but not really, more of a little offended. Though perhaps the one who thought of himself as dazzling didn't measure up his words well. Her Captain was described as 'Miss' which was true enough, the captain of ivory and raven was quite the young lady. However, what the young man uttered later as Uh, Missshowing up how can describing be very demeaning. Feeling her existence degraded, The sniper had this deep urge to blow him up with a barrage of bullets but Anais was a marine, someone who was supposed to keep the balance of order and never to disturb it with chaos. However, the smith reached the ultimate conclusion, she disliked him, for her mind would describe him and his register his entity as 'quite the douche'. Congratulations, and thank you for using Anais' services...

What the captain said was true. They were not there for the fake great hunt, pursuing exotic concoctions of bitter lies. So what Anais did do, was to nod in agreement. The marine wanted to imitate her captain to emphasize more but the lady in ivory and raven whose name was 'Jezebel' would suffice. Another fact was showed and it probably meant they were going on their way soon and Anais couldn't agree more. He would see the sniper nodding with a grimace over her face saying 'what she said'
