Moneih is the winter paradise for all these who have the golden coin required to enjoy it. With it's central location in the North blue, it's cold all year around, but not too cold for rich traders and other important people to spend their vacation skiing there.
The countless mountains' summits are covered in snow regardless of season and the scenic wilderness sways many of the richer people, to build themselves a mansion on this island.
With the clientele consisting mostly of more then rich citizens, everything else on Moneih adapted to it. High prices, fine wares, exquisite food. Luxury all around. Being an obvious honeypot to all plundering seafarers, Moneih has bought itself protection by the marine forces with an impressive base, partially carved into the side of the prominent mountain just behind the same-named main hub of Moneih, Moneih.
Money also means corruption, and insiders know, that citizens generously donate to both the marines as wel as the world gouvernment on an almost regular basis - in turn, no one ever asks how someone aquired the coin to live on this island of the rich and famous. Also, other things are being liberally overlooked - so it is said, it's possible to get into possession of 'human labourers' as well as many a rare piece of fine art on this island.

    Captain Constantin Rupt
The head honcho of Moneih's Marine Base. Also propably one of the main reasons why the well-heeled can do almost as they like, since even past the borders of Moneih, Cpt. Rupt is known to be in love with money and power. For the right size of money bag, he is more then willing to ignore his duties, honour and laws in general. On the other side, he is a smart man of business and without him, the market for exclusive needs of exclusive people on Moneih would not be what it is now.
Besides that, his base is a sanctuary of strictness and order. As he is a strong advocate of the phrase "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth", everything goes as it should, no one dares to disobey their orders or general conduct. And as such, the marine solders here are considered an actual force to be reckoned with, while normally, marines have the reputation to be rather dilettante and no match for serious threats, like seasoned pirates. It might also have to do with the fact, that Rupt interprets his favourite phrase very often very loosely, which leads to strict punishments for even the tiniest of mistakes.
