    Styles and Techniques

All fighting styles and their techniques that users created will be listed here.

THere are two kinds of styles, the free ones like publicly known martial arts, styles thaught to Marine Soldiers in training etc. and the private ones that are usually not publicly known and may only be practiced by certain characters and those who have these characters' permission.
What style is of which kind may be taken from the Quicklink info and/or the styles' respective description text.

    Quicklinks
Red Scale - Fishmen style for unarmed close quarters combat.
Tessei no ami no keishi - A chain/string style developed to allow fighting at a distance.
Shuǐ de Xíngshì - A form used in conjunction with katana, using the flow of combat to one's advantage instead of brute strength.
Kuchi no naka ni Tōgarashi (Pepper in the Mouth) - A rather ruthless means of combat, using the spicy flavorings of peppers to incapacitate one's foes at a distance and in melee.
Horizon Art - A collection of techniques based mostly on powerful straight attacks using impact that focuses on taking someone down fast.

    Red Scale
    Weapons: Hand-to-Hand

Description: A highly combative fishman style based around the usage of water and skin in the application of hand to hand combat as well as the fishman natural element of water being made into a prominant place while on land. All the while providing heavy close quarters combat (CQC) effectiveness primarily with the usage of fists and fist aiding devices such as gauntlets or other direct physical hand to hand enhanc(ers)ment. The combination of hand to hand ability and the use of natural fishman underwater familiarity creates a balance of incredible potential.

    ------------ Techniques ------------

    Nature's Land Fish
    Prerequisites: Stamina 1, Strength 2
    Weapon type: Hand-to-Hand
    Cost: 200

Description: The Fishman using this technique would be immersed in water at the beginning of the technique [required]. Upon doing so this allows for the water to be absorbed into the very skin itself during the time spent in the water soaking it inside of the actual body rather than just applying it in a way such as getting wet. Upon reaching land the fishman would then expell the water from his body creating a shimmering bubble of blue-white water that would appear very obviously to all around. This 'bubble' would allow for the fishman to move as if fully underwater for the duration of it's short lived presence

    Tessei no ami no keishi

    Weapons: Chains & Strings

Description: A style meant to take the combat away from the user, while giving him the advantage over his enemies by literally surrounding them. Since it's a style mostly employing remote actions via the use of various chains and strings to attack as well as counteract opponent attacks, fling objects as projectiles and generally wrest control of the field of battle by lining it with chains and strings, figuratively extending a skilled user's action radius across the entire site.
As training of the skill progresses, more and more chains or strings can be used at once.

    ----------

    Defending cross

    Prerequisites: Speed 2, Reaction 2
    Weapon typed: Chains & Strings
    Cost: 200

Description: A passive protective measure that is meant to halt many kinds of horizontal and vertical blows, by simply arranging two strings or chains in a cross pattern in the attack's way. Naturally, for full stopping power, they need to be tensioned.

    Shuǐ de Xíngshì

    Weapons: Katana

Description: The style evokes the user in the principle of water, without form and with form at the same time, to flow around all obstacles, smooth enough not to cause calamity, yet thorough enough to destroy rock, or so the saying goes about water in general. This style is unique to Jin as he composes himself like a water flow, easily adapting, easily attacking, and being thorough about it as nothing truly obstructs him, it is but an obstacle encountered to merely just go around instead or so it goes. His attacks are precise, given his average strength, he has come to rely not to contest swordsmanship in a test of strength, but merely in a test of finesse with this style. Though as time goes in development, Jin may become more and more proficient with the style, and may even evoke perhaps the tidal wave, a famed technique that comes from Shui de Xingshi, but otherwise, Jin still has a long way to go with swordsmanship.

Kuchi no naka ni Tōgarashi (Pepper in the Mouth)

    Weapons: Peppers. Hand-to-Hand

Description: This is a style of combat muchly based on the rather simple premise of cramming spicy peppers into the mouth of one's adversaries, and as such, the most common method is to either thrust one's hand, holding the pepper, into someone's mouth, or to throw large quantities of peppers at them. It is utilized namely by one chef called Pepperbeard, who has eaten the Kosho-Kosho no Mi Devilfruit, but it could be used by any who wished to use this style, should they be in a position where peppers are at hand. The style itself is largely one involving peppers being used to do so much as from merely hindering the opponent, to crippling them due to the sheer force of raw flavor. And of course, the title summarizes it best; a pepper in the mouth. Excrutiating pain to the tongue and throat, often even the lips and sinuses, the nose as well. Certainly, being force-fed peppers isn't an activity you'd enjoy.

    ------------------------

    Habanero Hurling!

    Prerequisites: Dexterity (1)
    Weapon types: Peppers.
    Cost: 100

Description: With this ability, the user has practiced his throwing to a fairly decent degree of accuracy and can throw a spicy pepper, often a Naga Savina Habanero, into the victim's mouth, should they have their mouth open, such as when talking. The pepper could be spit out, but upon touching the tongue, it will be too late, as the taste buds will be immediately set aflame with spicy flavor. Chewing the pepper only makes it worse! Mind you, characters with a high pain tolerance or high tolerance to spicy food will be largely unaffected.

    Chili Choke!

    Prerequisites: Strength (1), Hand-to-Hand (1)
    Weapon types: Peppers. Hand-to-Hand
    Cost: 100

Description: With this ability, the user takes a pepper, or several peppers into his hand and with much skill and force, shoves them into the poor victim's mouth, FORCING them to eat the pepper, unless they can shove him away in time.

    Horizon Art

    Weapons: Hand-to-Hand

Description: Horizon arts are generally a collection of techniques based mostly on single, straight attacks with great power or impact to take out enemies in few powerful shots rather then competing for extended time periods. Most of the techniques require some physical prowess in order to hurt the victim more then the attacker, as forces can work in both directions – and of those forces, there are a lot in this style.
Almost exclusively teached by the Aza school on Karate Island.

    ------------ Techniques ------------

    Cloudsplitter

    Prerequisites: Strength 3, Hand-to-Hand 2
    Weapon types: Hand-to-Hand
    Cost: 350 EXP

Description: A seemingly simple downwards leg strike, also known as dropkick, that employs the user's strength alongside his weight and falling or jumping velocity to deliver a fatal strike that crushes victims under the literal spearhead of the attack, the user's heel and leg by imparting strong vertical forces.

    Torcleaver

    Prerequisites: Strength 2, Hand-to-Hand 2
    Weapon types: Hand-to-Hand
    Cost: 200 EXP

Description: Basically a standard move of the style, it's a special kind of karate chop. Relying on the user's brute strength and maul-effect of his arm used as a lever, it serves to either deliver hard, close-range blows to enemies, or break their defensive measures, like weapon hilts, shields or similiar (if made of breakable material, and depending on the individual's strength), or tear other obstacles asunder.
